In a hypothetical example of 10,000 kWh actually exported to the Repower grid in Q3, that equals CHF 854 base payment; if your guarantees of origin (HKNs) meet the transfer requirements and go to Repower, a further 0.2 ct/kWh or CHF 20 is added. This calculation assumes Repower's grid area and the full Q3 export volume and does not apply to third-party marketing or participation in the remuneration system under Art. 19 EnA.

What drives the economics
#The grid operator and system scope limit the tariff. Repower describes feed-in payment for systems in its own grid area up to 3 MW or 5,000 MWh of annual production after self-consumption. Anyone marketing electricity to third parties or participating in the remuneration system under Art. 19 EnA receives no additional Repower feed-in payment.
The base value is not a fixed annual price. The SFOE PV reference prices for 2026 were 10.266 ct/kWh in Q1, 3.896 in Q2 and 8.54 in Q3, all excluding VAT. Repower settles quarterly, so use your actual exported kWh for each quarter with its corresponding price, then check the applicable minimum payment.
System size and self-consumption determine the minimum payment. Up to 30 kWp, 6.0 ct./kWh is guaranteed; from 30 to below 150 kWp, 6.2 ct./kWh applies without self-consumption and 180 divided by system capacity applies with self-consumption. For a 50 kWp system, this formula gives 3.6 ct./kWh for the first 30 kW unless the reference market price is higher.
HKNs are a separate revenue item. In 2026, Repower pays 0.5 ct./kWh in the first and fourth quarters and 0.2 ct./kWh in the second and third quarters in addition to the energy payment. The system must be recorded in Pronovo's guarantees-of-origin system and a standing order must transfer the HKNs to Repower; retroactive HKN payments are excluded.
Payment covers exports, not total production. Direct consumption, battery charging, a wallbox, a heat pump and actual exports must be modelled separately. Higher self-consumption can reduce the value of exported kilowatt-hours while avoiding more expensive grid purchases; the HKN and tariff value is therefore only one part of the economic calculation.
Changing the buyer and metering changes the process. A switch to third-party marketing or back to Repower is possible at quarter-end with one month's notice; when a third party purchases the energy, Repower payments cease. In 2026, additional non-essential meters or virtual metering points are not charged, but regular metering fees may apply from 2027 if the arrangement is not adjusted.

Confirm the grid area
use the connection address to verify that the system is actually in the Repower grid area. Being in Graubünden alone is not enough because other distribution system operators apply their own feed-in conditions.
Record system limits and participation route
document module capacity in kWp, expected annual production after self-consumption and whether participation under Art. 19 EnA or third-party marketing is planned. The Repower framework applies only up to 3 MW or 5,000 MWh and without an excluded marketing route.
Calculate the tariff class
classify the system up to 30 kWp, from 30 to below 150 kWp or above 150 kWp, and separate self-consumption from full feed-in. From 30 to below 150 kWp with self-consumption, calculate 180 divided by kWp and compare the result with the current SFOE reference market price.
Prepare energy flows and HKNs
record production, direct use, battery and charging flows and physical exports separately. If Repower is to pay for HKNs, have the system recorded with Pronovo and set up the standing order to the correct trader account.
Decide on the buyer and deadline
for third-party marketing or a switch to Repower, align the notice at least one month before a quarter-end. At the same time, check the metering arrangement because the number of meters and virtual metering points can affect future metering fees.
Check the quarterly settlement
compare the applied SFOE reference market price with the minimum payment, show energy and HKNs separately and account for 8.1% VAT. The SFOE publication by the 10th working day after quarter-end is the right point to update the economic calculation.
