Owners planning PV, storage and e-mobility together should assess this grant as a separate funding element alongside the system design. The station must be installed and commissioned after 1 January 2026, use electricity exclusively from renewable sources and meet installation standard D, “Ready to charge”, under SIA leaflet 2060 (2020 edition).
In the standard case, the application is filed only after commissioning; no pre-construction application is required for this incentive. The completion documents must reach the canton’s Environmental and Energy Office no later than three months after commissioning. A conventional one-way AC wallbox does not fall under this specific incentive item.
What counts for funding
#The building type determines the funding route: section 23.1 of Lucerne’s 2026 funding conditions covers bidirectional charging stations for vehicles in residential buildings. A station in a purely office or commercial building must therefore not be budgeted under this residential-building programme.
The charging technology is decisive: section 23 of the funding conditions requires a bidirectional charging station with DC current and installation standard D, “Ready to charge”, under SIA leaflet 2060, 2020 edition. A one-way AC wallbox does not meet this combination.
The timing must be demonstrable: section 23.2 requires installation and commissioning after 1 January 2026. The invoice and signed commissioning record should show this date clearly; otherwise eligibility cannot be documented reliably.
The electricity source is an eligibility condition: under section 23.4, the bidirectional station is eligible only when the electricity comes exclusively from renewable sources. This point therefore belongs in the technical plan and the completion documents.
Multiple charging points follow a parking-space rule: section 23.5 permits several applications for one shared infrastructure, but only one per parking space; extensions are allowed. Parking-space numbers and previously funded stations must be traceable before ordering.
The grant amount and deadline belong together: Canton Lucerne specifies CHF 2,000 per bidirectional DC charging station, while section 23.6 requires the completion documents no later than three months after commissioning. Ordering without a deadline plan can therefore put the claim at risk even where the technology is eligible.

Classify the funding case

Define the technical configuration
obtain written confirmation from the installer that the station is bidirectional with DC current and meets installation standard D, “Ready to charge”, under SIA leaflet 2060, 2020 edition. The confirmation must match the later completion attachment.
Check electricity source and parking spaces
before ordering, document that the electricity is exclusively renewable and, for shared infrastructure, record which parking spaces receive a station. Section 23.5 limits funding to one application per parking space.
Schedule and complete the installation
the station must be installed and commissioned after 1 January 2026. Keep the invoice, system description and signed commissioning record consistent with section 23.2 and the actual project date.
Prepare the completion application
enter the details in Lucerne’s building-programme portal and sign the generated form. The review dossier must include the invoice, commissioning record and the installer’s confirmation of installation standard D.
File within three months
submit the complete completion dossier to the Environmental and Energy Office no later than three months after commissioning. For several stations, attach the parking-space allocation, individual invoice items and renewable electricity evidence so that no station is claimed twice.
