Local service

Solar system Wetzikon – Dependable execution

Wetzikon complements Winterthur and Uster as an important region for complete PV projects. The focus stays on the points that are especially relevant there.

Local system fit

Wetzikon fits projects where central coordination and dependable project logic influence the decision.

For a solar installation in Wetzikon, success depends not only on module area but on the process: 3D survey, transparent quote, grid-operator coordination and commissioning with full documentation. Vigorek handles the full coordination — from the initial estimate to handover.

Context

How this service works in Wetzikon in practice.

In Wetzikon, local conditions decide the project path: what matters before quoting, how delivery runs and what is truly handed over in the end.

01Service focus

What the full installation secures on site

Wetzikon complements Winterthur and Uster as an important region for complete PV projects. The focus stays on the points that are especially relevant there. From the initial estimate and 3D survey through a transparent quote to full commissioning — one project, one process, one contact.

  • Initial estimate and 3D survey (drone): roof, orientation, shading, electrical setup and possible constraints — before any quote is prepared.
  • Transparent quote with clearly separated line items: material, installation, scaffolding, electrical, registration, commissioning — each one individually listed.
  • Coordination of Pronovo registration, metering concept, grid-operator queries and meter replacement through to full commissioning.
  • Optional integration of battery storage, wallbox and energy management — only where the usage profile and expansion goals support it.
02Regional framework

Why this canton shifts the priorities

Wetzikon fits projects where central coordination and dependable project logic influence the decision. Zurich is Switzerland's largest cantonal market. With over 12,600 existing installations and only 4% of potential used, this represents the greatest growth potential. The combination of high incomes (maximum tax deduction) and high roof availability (70%+ suitable) makes Zurich the most attractive PV market in Switzerland.

  • A pre-check reduces open issues around roof, electrical work and registration.
  • Owners want traceable quotes instead of generic package pricing.
  • Handover should prepare monitoring and later operation cleanly.
03Project logic

How coordination makes the difference

In the Canton of Zurich, investments in PV systems are 100% deductible as property maintenance – for both new installations and replacements. Costs can be spread over up to three tax periods. Pre-check for roof, shading and electrical work.

  • Pre-check for roof, shading and electrical work.

  • Clean documentation for operations and service.

Regional context

Solar system installation in Wetzikon: what matters here

In Wetzikon, Zürich, cantonal rules, the responsible grid operator and local permit procedures shape how a project is planned and delivered. The points below show what really matters before quoting, installation and handover.

Regional starting point

Wetzikon is shaped by Canton Zürich rules, but roof access, meter cabinet and actual building use decide the local project path.

Service core

A complete solar installation depends on sequencing, grid-operator coordination, electrical planning and clean commissioning.

Grid & registration

For Wetzikon, Zürich, grid operators such as EWZ, EKZ, metering concept and commissioning are aligned early.

Decision reason

A pre-check reduces open issues around roof, electrical work and registration.

Execution

Pre-check for roof, shading and electrical work.

Economic frame

Feed-in tariff and self-consumption are matched to the property; in the canton, 9.0 Rp./kWh Minimum (EKZ) / 12.91 Rp./kWh (EWZ) / 14 Rp./kWh LEG is one relevant reference point.

Cantonal framework

Which cantonal framework really shapes Wetzikon.

Wetzikon operates inside the same cantonal system as other projects in Zürich: taxes, incentives and energy law shape both speed and economics.

Local context

Wetzikon decides locally, but is shaped canton-wide.

Zurich is a pioneer in ZEV projects (self-consumption associations) in multi-family houses and has the most registered ZEV communities nationwide. ETH Zurich actively researches building-integrated solar technology.

Wetzikon fits projects where central coordination and dependable project logic influence the decision.

Tax and subsidy logic

In the Canton of Zurich, investments in PV systems are 100% deductible as property maintenance – for both new installations and replacements. Costs can be spread over up to three tax periods. Zurich has no general cantonal PV top-up – investment support runs Switzerland-wide via the Pronovo one-time payment. There is no cantonal subsidy for PV battery storage (the canton excludes household batteries from its energy funding). Municipal programmes are relevant instead: in the City of Zurich, ewz has funded battery storage since 1 Aug 2026 (CHF 1,000 flat from 3 kWh plus CHF 100/kWh up to 100 kWh, only combined with PV and energy management) and PV systems with increased contributions. For feed-in, the City of Zurich uses ewz at an average of 12.91 Rp./kWh, or 14 Rp./kWh in the ewz.solarquartier LEG model.

Permits and energy law

Since January 1, 2023, most solar systems in Canton Zurich only require notification (30 days before construction) — no building permit. Exceptions: listed buildings, protected zones, facade systems on protected objects. Zurich implemented MuKEn 2014 as of 2022. New buildings must install at least 10 watts of solar capacity per square meter of energy reference area. The revised Energy Act (EnG ZH) also requires switching to renewable systems when replacing heating.

Market signal and location

Zurich is Switzerland's largest cantonal market. With over 12,600 existing installations and only 4% of potential used, this represents the greatest growth potential. The combination of high incomes (maximum tax deduction) and high roof availability (70%+ suitable) makes Zurich the most attractive PV market in Switzerland. There is no general cantonal PV bonus in Zurich. The standard element is the Pronovo one-time payment (modelled in the calculator as CHF 360/kWp). There is no cantonal battery storage subsidy; municipal programmes are relevant instead – in the City of Zurich, for example, the ewz storage incentive (from 1 Aug 2026, CHF 1,000 plus CHF 100/kWh) and further municipal programmes depending on where you live.
